  • Making minor bore, strike, or alignment adjustments when appropriate
  • Checking basic operation with the door open and closed

Rekeying, lockouts, high-security systems, commercial access control, damaged frames, and full door replacement require another provider.

This is ideal for:

  • Owners changing locks at a personally owned rental property
  • Doors where the bolt only throws if you pull or lift the door

This may NOT be the right fit for:

  • Rekeying an existing lock to a new key — that's locksmith work, and I'll point you to one
  • Lockouts, broken keys, or extracting a key snapped off in the cylinder
  • High-security or restricted keyway systems that require a licensed dealer
  • Master key systems across multiple properties
  • Commercial panic hardware, exit devices, and access control systems
  • Full door slab or frame replacement

When a Handyman is the Right Choice

A handyman may be a fit for suitable residential deadbolt or handleset installation and minor door-hardware alignment.

If the door is damaged, badly warped, affected by moisture or structural movement, or needs locksmith work, a different solution may be required.

04 · PRICING

Pricing Expectations (What Homeowners Should Know)

Replacing a door knob, lever, or deadbolt is a flat $180 labor for the first one and +$60 for each extra one on the same visit. I confirm the price from your photos before I come out.

Pricing depends on the number of doors, hardware compatibility, existing bore and backset, strike alignment, door and frame condition, access, and any suitable adjustments. Send photos of every door and product before scope or pricing is confirmed.

A $180 minimum service charge may apply to smaller or standalone visits.

No. Rekeying, key extraction, and lockouts require a locksmith.

Can several compatible locks be installed together?

Can a sticking or misaligned door be reviewed too?
Yes. Door and frame conditions may determine whether a minor adjustment fits my scope or another service is needed.
